A former white supremacist gang member says he was brought to tears by students he’s spoken with in the region, last week in Yarmouth, Shelburne and Barrington.
The story of Michael “Bull” Roberts is one of violence and crime.
He changed his life and has partnered with the RCMP and speaks to students.
Roberts says he tells young people, it’s all about making the right choices in life.
“As a kid all I ever wanted to do was join the army and serve my country. I never got to do that because my life went off the rails. But now everyday I am able to serve my country, I’m so grateful and I never take it for granted.”
Roberts says over 500 students from Shelburne and Yarmouth counties added him to their Facebook accounts in a couple of days.
“It’s been incredible here man. I came here to try and give of myself but they gave so much of themselves and they shared so much with me.”
He says they talk to him about bullying, sexual abuse and other issues that teens face daily.
