My 26th birthday will be one to remember. Not because I had a rager of a party, but because of the things I couldn’t do.
The birthday wishes remained the same. Lots of love on Facebook, text messages and of course on the Good Times on the Wake Up Call! But because of factors around COVID-19, this years birthday had many changes.
- I got to see my immediate family (Mom, Dad, Brothers), but we all stayed 6ft apart. Not even a birthday hug.
- My grandparents and friends couldn’t come over because of the family bubble. We mostly spent our time outside.
- Blowing out the candles changed up this year. BLOWING on a cake is probably not the best idea during COVID-19, so I waved a piece of paper to blow the candles out (hopefully my wish will still come true!).
I feel bad for any kids that had a giant birthday party planned out (like going swimming), because those plans are on hold. As long as we get cake and presents, I’m O.K.
