A Big South Shore Festival has made the tough decision to postpone their festivities for another year.
The Liverpool Privateer Days has decided they will not be having their festival and waiting for 2022.
Here are all the details:
The Privateer Days Commission Board held a meeting last night to discuss the possibility of having our festival this year. The discussion revolved around Covid-19 and the uncertainty surrounding it; vaccinations, gathering limits, borders and bubbles opening, ability to social distance, and most importantly, safety for all involved whether spectator or participant. We also took into account, with the borders closed, that some activities such as East Coast Amusement rides, as well as other participants, would not be able to attend. It was unanimously decided that due to the uncertainty, and inability to guarantee safety for everyone, the 2021 Privateer Days festival has been cancelled. While we are all disappointed and had hoped to have a bigger and better festival this year, it’s not worth jeopardizing anyone’s health and safety. We wish everyone a safe and healthy year, and look forward to planning for 2022.
