SHAID Tree Animal Shelter is looking for donations of canned dog food after running out completely.
Usually at least two cases of dog food are used by the shelter each week depending on how many dogs they have at the time.
In addition, they are also in need of supplies such as large gloves and wood pellets to use as litter.
Kelly Inglis, Manager of SHAID Tree Animal Shelter said the shelter relies heavily on community support.
“We don’t get any government funding,” said Inglis. “Our only income is donations, adoption fees and fundraising ”
She said SHAID is always open to donations of cat food, as they go through up to 12 cases per week.
The shelter also spends an average of over $5000 per month on vet care alone.
Donations can be made in person, over the phone, or by sending an e-transfer.
