People have been receiving emails about a PayPal inactivity fee and it’s not a scam. PayPal is planning on charging Canadians up to $20 if they don’t use their account enough.
The inactivity fee is going to apply to people who have an “inactive” account. That means you haven’t used it in the last 12 months. The charge depends on how much money you have in your account. If you have $0 in your account, no worries.
If you have under $20, you’ll be knocked down to $0. If you have $50, you’ll lose $20.
How do you stop this from happening?
You guessed it….Buy something.
So if you have a PayPal account, you may want to check if you have any money sitting there. You will have till mid-December before the charges happen.
