Well things are warming up and you know what that means… BUGS
I have to say I am a bit nervous too. Yesterday in one sunny spot I saw the biggest swarm of what looked like baby blackflies I have ever seen. It also seems that this year the regular annoyance of our traditional flying and crawling critters could be enhanced by newcomers too. A few months back we got some details on the Joro spider that is making it’s way East and will likely crawl to our country before too long. Still bracing for the Murder Hornets and then there are the ticks. I remember when there were still some areas that didn’t have those critters around and now it seems they are EVERYWHERE! 7 Natural Ways To Repel Ticks
It kinda makes me long for the old days when the worst thing you had to worry about was how much blood you were “donating” to the blackflies and mosquitoes.
Now if we look at what else is new this spring in the great outdoors… this might be a good thing for fishing, haha. The latest in invasive species to come our way is the Asian jumping worm. That’s right, a jumping earthworm.
