Who’s ready for a little Summer hockey?
The IIHF and Hockey Canada announced that Edmonton will host the 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships this August.
Alberta to host World Juniors and Hlinka Gretzky Cup this summer.

Why in the middle of summer? Well, if you remember, things went haywire back in December with COVID-19. The tournament was cancelled within a few days due to rising COVID-19 cases within the teams. The IIHF announced that the tourney would be restarted in full at a later date.
So….patio beers and World Juniors? Sounds like a good deal to me!
