Dorsal fins and recognizable music. From the Meg to Jaws, often if someone mentions a shark, the minds of many go to a killing machine with the only intention to attack in the water.
Well I would never argue that to be untrue because I luckily have no way to know. All I do know is that today is “Shark Awareness Day” This is meant as a day to bring light to the fact that sharks are needed to keep the ocean healthy. I don’t know about you, but healthy or not, I really don’t want to get too close and personal with Mrs. Jaws.
The ‘Shark Tracker’ is one tool that allows you to know a bit more about what is in the deep blue sea on any given day. I will go out on a limb and say it is doubtful that Ocearch was able to tag every shark in the ocean. But, the sharks with locators can be watched on the tracker website.
Seems a bit quiet so far with “Crystal” in the Bay of Fundy and “Martha” up near Cape Breton. You can keep track of sharks throughout the oceans with the

Sharks are definitely a part of our lives from the time we are born. There are so many kids clothes with a shark theme, almost as many as dinosaurs. I think my favourite would be the shark slippers at our house and then there is the stuffed shark that is never moved without humming the Jaws theme song, haha.
On the topic of songs, the most viewed YouTube video of all time is a song all about a ‘Baby Shark’ too. WARNING, only open this if you are prepared to have the song stuck in your head, haha.

Another hugely popular shark related event is “SHARK WEEK”. The annual event when the Discovery channel dedicates a week of programming to these swimming killing machines. The schedule is out for the week of all things SHARK, set to begin on July 24th.
Shark Week 2022 Schedule
This year will be extra special for Dwayne Johnson fans too. First he got sucked into Jumanji, then went on a Jungle Cruise and now he is all set to be the first Master of Ceremonies for the Discovery channel’s Shark Week 2022.
