At the risk of stating the obvious – it’s HOT!
If you have the luxury of air conditioning, it can be manageable but not everyone does.
Temps will continue to reach 29 to 33 degrees with the humidex making it feel 36 to 40. Be on the look out for signs of illness as a result of the heat:
- swelling
- rash
- cramps
- fainting
- heat exhaustion
- heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
Check on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water.
Same goes for animals. Make sure they have access to water and shade and don’t walk them when it’s this warm. It’s rough on them and hot on their feet! Temps will drop to be more comfortable this evening.
