The South Shore Lumberjacks are wrapping up their first week of training camp with an exhibition game Wednesday night against the Yarmouth Mariners.
The Jacks will host game one in a two-game exhibition series against their local rivals, with puck drop for Wednesday’s game at 7:30 p.m. at the LCLC in Bridgewater.
Jacks head coach Brad Tesink spoke with media at the teams morning skate around and indicated he’ll be using the first exhibition game as a chance to test some of the younger and newer players. “We’re really evaluating our prospects, so we’re going to be giving our young guys a chance to get some action tonight in the LCLC in front of our fans so they can see the exciting guys we have coming in this year and in the future,” Tesink said.

Although this will be many players’ first time dressing for a Junior hockey game Tesink believes a rivalry matchup is the ideal proving ground, “It’s gonna be fun and intense because whenever these teams come together regardless of rosters or standings the players know that there is a long-standing rivalry and they all want to win,”.
Tickets are still available to the game and can be purchased at the gate or online, however in an effort to improve the game’s atmosphere admission is free for anyone 18 and under.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the South Shore Minor Hockey Player Assitance Fund.
The second game of the series which will be played in Yarmouth takes place on September 11.
