This Friday is going to be a great day as we are returning to Wile’s Lake Farm Market for our Country 100.7 Pumpkin Carving Party.
I have always loved pumpkin carving and I smile when I think of how this event has grown since the first event that we held 12 years ago at Apple Berry on Lahave Street where four people showed up. Can’t wait to see you all out enjoying our carving event for FREE thanks to Delong Farms and Wile’s Lake Farm Market Friday afternoon at 1pm.
This weekend I attended my first ever pumpkin painting party. Downside is that the creations need to dry and there is no place to stick a candle. But, our kids are too young for knives and this was a neat thing that they could do on their own.
There are actually a number of things listed as pros around pumpkin painting which I am sure just started because someone ran out of time and grabbed a Sharpie to draw a face on their pumpkin last minute.

Now I can list MANY pros for carving pumpkins, including how great they look with a flickering light inside. The other huge benefit of carving, the SEEDS! Of course you may keep a couple to plant next spring, but most of them are flavored and roasted for a delicious seasonal snack.
I remember as a kid we didn’t use the seeds and now each year I think about how we were missing out.
