Police continue to look for clues after the disappearance of a 21-year-old man in southwestern Nova Scotia.
Zac Lefave was last seen walking on Highway 334 in Plymouth, Yarmouth County, at approximately 12:15 a.m. on January 1, 2021 after attending a New Year’s Eve gathering with friends.
Over the past four years, major crimes investigators collaborated with various RCMP units and regional ground search and rescue teams. They have conducted extensive searches, including the use of RCMP Police Dog Services and an RCMP cadaver dog team from British Columbia.
Investigators have spoken with over 200 people, following up on tips and leads. The information gathered has guided search efforts and will support potential new searches.
The RCMP is seeking information from anyone who was on or near Highway 334 between Arcadia and Wedgeport between 11:30 p.m. on December 31, 2020, and 3:00 a.m. on January 1, 2021.
Lefave was 5-foot-9, 175 pounds, with brown facial hair, brown hair, and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a hat, plaid shirt, and shorts.
The RCMP continues to seek any information that could assist in their investigation. The case is part of rhetorical major crimes reward program which offers $150,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
