The South Shore Exhibition Grounds will host the 4-H Nova Scotia Provincial Show from September 26 to 28, bringing together youth, families, and communities from across the province.
Organizers say it’s the largest youth-focused agricultural event in Atlantic Canada, featuring more than 1,500 youth members and 600 volunteers. Thousands of supporters are expected in Bridgewater over the three-day showcase.
The weekend will include livestock competitions, life skills projects, showmanship championships, and the Young Speaker for Agriculture contest. Visitors can also enjoy family-friendly activities, from interactive displays to educational exhibits that highlight the role of agriculture in Nova Scotia.
Jay Woodworth, Executive Director of 4-H Nova Scotia, said the event is about more than competitions. “It’s a celebration of leadership, growth, and community spirit,” he said.
Board Chair Lacey Fisher added the show highlights the passion of members and volunteers: “The Provincial Show embodies what 4-H is all about—youth learning, achieving, and connecting with their communities.”
The Provincial Show has been a longstanding tradition in Nova Scotia, showcasing the importance of agriculture while giving young people the chance to demonstrate skills they’ve been working on all year.
