Rain is expected to linger over parts of eastern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton on Remembrance Day, while western areas of the province should see clearer conditions by the late morning.
Environment Canada meteorologist Ian Hubbard says the rain system currently moving across the province will taper off by the time most ceremonies begin. “Western areas — roughly from Halifax and Truro westward through the Valley, Tri-County, and South Shore — should see the rain ending by late morning,” Hubbard said. “There may even be some sunny breaks developing just before noon.”
He says temperatures will stay mild through the morning, with most areas in the low to mid-teens before gradually cooling through the afternoon.
Eastern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton, however, can expect a wetter and windier Remembrance Day. “Rain will still be lingering across Cape Breton and parts of the eastern shore around 11 a.m.,” Hubbard explained. “Those areas may also see some gustier winds during the ceremonies.”
Hubbard says conditions should improve later in the day, but attendees in the eastern part of the province may want to prepare for umbrellas and wet ground.
