The Lunenburg County Sport Heritage Society has announced five new inductees to its Hall of Fame, recognizing athletes, builders, and a team who’ve made lasting contributions to sport in the region.
The Class of 2025 includes:

David Walker of Bridgewater – Hockey

Lisa Ross of Mahone Bay – Sailing

David Penny of Bridgewater – Boxing/Kickboxing (Builder)

Theodore “Ted” Veinot of First South – Basketball Official (Builder)

Gerald Mossman (Kingsburg/Pentz) and Sonny Heisler (Mahone Bay) – Canadian International Dory Racing Team
The induction gala takes place Sunday, November 2, at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre (LCLC) in Bridgewater.
The reception begins at 6 p.m., with the ceremony starting around 6:30 p.m.
The keynote speaker is Mark Smith, Director of Sport for Sport Nova Scotia and Director of Coaching for the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic. Smith’s long career includes leading Softball Canada’s Women’s National Team to a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
