Commuters on Highway 103 once again have a set of blue and yellow eyes watching over them.
The new painting, which is located past Exit 6 on the eastbound side of the highway and has the words “LOVE NOVA SCOTIA” and “K.HEBB” painted on it. The “K.HEBB” marking likely indicates the artist behind the work, but so far our newsroom has been unable to confirm that.
Some of the paint has already begun to chip away on the new painting, likely because of the recent rain in the area.
The painting comes just weeks after a virtually identical set of eye rocks was demolished by the province further up Highway 103 to make room for ongoing twinning efforts.
Following the announcement that the province would be destroying them, many people expressed disappointment; however, the province maintained it was necessary for safety.
While there remains a mystery about who K. Hebb is commuters can take comfort in the return of a friendly piece of artwork on one of Nova Scotia’s busiest highways.
