Toronto Blue Jays President and CEO Mark Shapiro is thanking fans across Canada for their passion and support after what he called a “special and unforgettable” season.
In an open letter released this week, Shapiro said the organization is filled with gratitude after capturing the American League East title, defeating the Yankees and Mariners in the playoffs, and finishing just short of a World Series championship.
“This begins, and must begin, with a simple but deeply felt thank you,” Shapiro wrote. “Thank you to our fans — the best in baseball. You travelled great distances to support us, filling our ballpark at home and on the road. We heard you. We felt you.”

He praised the team’s unity and resilience, saying the Blue Jays embodied toughness, character, and love for one another — qualities that inspired fans nationwide.
“In a time when we all needed it, our Blue Jays inspired us, lifted us, and united us — all through the game we love,” he wrote.
While acknowledging the disappointment of falling just short of a championship, Shapiro said that feeling will fuel the team’s determination heading into next season.
“The pursuit continues, with even greater resolve,” he said. “I have never been prouder to be a Blue Jay, and never more determined to deliver more memories, moments, and celebrations that bind us together — as one team, one country, and one fanbase.”
