Mahone Bay residents will head to the polls next month to elect two new councillors following recent resignations on town council.
The special municipal election is scheduled for February 14, 2026, after Councillor Rebecca Twanow stepped down last week — the second resignation since November.
Deputy Mayor Colin Kingsmill resigned late last year for personal reasons, with his departure becoming official on November 27.
Councillor Joseph Feeny has since taken over the Deputy Mayor role.
The nomination period for candidates is now open and runs until January 20, 2026. Nomination packages are available at Town Hall or by contacting the Assistant Returning Officer.
Residents should also confirm they are on the List of Electors. Revisions are underway until January 20, and updates can be made:
- In person at Town Hall
- By mail (PO Box 530 or Town Hall mail slot)
- By phone or email (details on the town’s website)
To update your information, you’ll need your name, address, and date of birth.
