Nova Scotians are facing a slower commute this morning as the province digs out from another round of winter weather.
Most of the province picked up over 10 centimetres of snow from late yesterday into this morning, leaving plow crews working to clear main and secondary routes.
Reports indicate 100‑series highways are clear, but many smaller roads remain snow‑covered or icy, and drivers are being urged to take extra time and use caution.
Despite the latest snowfall, the power grid held up well, with only a few scattered outages affecting fewer than 200 customers early today.
Several school regions are affected by closures or delays, including:
- South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) – closed
- Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) – delayed opening
- All CSAP schools – closed
- Tri‑County – closed
- Chignecto‑Central – closed
- Cape Breton‑Victoria – closed
Motorists are encouraged to plan extra time and prepare for winter driving conditions as cleanup continues across the province.
