By the end of next month (July), the Lunenburg Branch of the South Shore Regional Library will have a brand new home.
The Pelham Street location will be moving the first floor of the Historic Lunenburg Academy, the iconic wood framed 19th Century atop the hill overlooking Old Town Lunenburg.
Deputy Chief Librarian, Jeff Mercer, notes the move itself is quite a big deal, giving them much more space to work with.
“It is an increase in space and it definitely allows us to do some services a lot better than we could before so we’re very excited to be moving in there,” says Mercer.
As for the actual move itself, it won’t happen overnight.
“Over the course of the last few months and years, we’ve new equipment put in, new shelving, new furniture, things like that so we’re going to be moving bit by bit over the course of the summer,” notes Mercer.
The Grand Opening of the Lunenburg Library is slated for Saturday, July 28th, 2018.
