The Tenors have issued an apology after thousands of outraged Canadians took to social media last night, after the singing of O’Canada at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in San Diego.

During the group’s performance, they changed the lyrics to the anthem, adding the line “We are brothers, we are sisters, All lives matter to the brave,” as opposed to “With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North strong and free.”
A sign was also held up, that stated “All Lives Matter.”

Wait, did the Tenors change the lyrics of the anthem because they think Canadians are actually all brothers and sisters? THAT IS INSULTING.

#TheTenors used to known as ‘The Canadian Tenors.’ Now they are known as the ‘unbookable Tenors.’ #MLBAllStarGame

In the apology posted to Twitter last night, The Tenors stated that it was the fault of one member of the group…and that they are deeply sorry for the disrepectful and misguided lack of judgement.
The group claims that the one member changed the lyrics of the anthem to serve his own political views, and that Remigio Pereira, who is accused of changing the lyrics, will not be performing with the group until further notice.
Pathetic and embarrassing performance from The Tenors. Baseball should be an escape from politics—not embroiled in it.
