If you swear like a sailor, I’m betting that this word is on the low end of your “bad words”.
But the word Damn has upset a few people after it was used in a Burger King commercial.
In the commercial, somebody says “D*mn, that’s good!”. If somebody asked you to name swear words, that would probably end up on the list, right?
Growing up, that was a bad word in my house. Shut Up was also a “bad word”. If I said it to one of my brothers, I got in trouble. But when we got older we were able to use the replacement words Darn and Dang! That word is considered a swear word because it’s usually mixed in with a religious background, for example: God D*mn.
I don’t have kids, but when I do, I’ll teach them about swear words and I’ll probably throw in that word, because it does offend some people. I’m curious, is/was D*mn a swear word in your house? Did you get soap in your mouth?
