I had a neat walk back in time this week at the South Shore Centre (formally the Bridgewater Mall). I was walking past a location I used to frequent often back in the day, just as someone opened the door. I got to sneak a peak and all of a sudden it was 15 years ago again. Tomorrow’s Lounge was one of the Bridgewater hot spots back in the day and behind that blocked off wall it looked just like I remembered. That got me thinking about the places we used to go… Tomorrow’s, the Tavern, Legends in the Valley… all just a memory now. Then if we look a bit deeper into the memory bank, Bridgewater has seen a lot of great spots disappear. Remember the Little Red Restaurant? What about Cranberries at the Fairview Inn, the old drive in A&W and the restaurant that was where Edward’s Denture Clinic is now. All great spots for sure. AND then when you travel through the South Shore and remember former institutions like “Bill’s Store” in Mahone Bay… What former establishment/business do you miss the most?
When things get back to normal and we start travelling again, here are some ideas of memorable places to check out that are not on the South Shore.
