Hard to believe today is July 28th! In a normal year we would be preparing to hang out at the Big Ex for the week. This date was also the birthday of a very notable Canadian as Terry Fox would have been 62 this year. 2020 also marks the 40th Anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope.
In recognition of this milestone, the Terry Fox Foundation is launching a campaign with the theme #TryLikeTerry
They are asking Canadians to try something they have never done. It can be something life changing, like swimming with sharks to overcome their greatest fear. It can be an athletic-based challenge, like running a marathon or doing 200 push-ups. It can be fun, like a 6-year old eating broccoli for the first time! In the end, hopefully people will surprise themselves and share in the feeling that anything is possible if we try.
Your challenge is to create a short social post (static or video) and put it up on your social media with the #TryLikeTerry hashtag and tag The Terry Fox Foundation.

They mention overcoming fears as something for you to #TryLikeTerry . I thought this was interesting. Apparently we are programmed by history to be scared of things that are not really the biggest threats of today’s world.
You’re afraid of the wrong things: What evolution made you scared of versus what actually might kill you
