I was up in Halifax a few weekends ago. I forget what store I went into but I’m pretty sure it was like a home store or clothing store, it might have been a Winners. I walked down one aisle and was very surprised to see not one but two large dogs staring back at me. They were very well behaved and at first I thought they might be service dogs but I’m pretty sure they were just pets.
It got me thinking! It seems more and more places and stores are allowing not just service dogs or seeing eye dogs but just normal pet dogs as well! I completely understand that people have therapy dogs or service dogs but should just normal pets be allowed to come to stores or even restaurants with their owners? I don’t mind much at all but I’m sure other people would. I suppose it’s up to the store owner in the end though. I would put my foot down in restaurants though. Service dogs yes but I don’t want to see someone’s pet dog begging for food as I eat!
Look at this guy in Texas. He took his pet steer to a store that claimed it welcomed all leashed animals! They centrally did welcome him!
Do you mind people bringing their pets to stores and restaurants? Have you been seeing more animals around town? Also, do you know of any stores that allow pet’s around the Tri Counties?
