The federal Liberals took a hit in the Atlantic region as they lost three seats compared to the last election in 2019.
In 11 ridings in our province, the Liberals are leading or elected in eight, while the Conservatives are elected in three ridings including a massive win in South Shore-St.Margaret’s for Rick Perkins.
Perkins defeated two-time MP and Fisheries Minister Bernadette Jordan.
In New Brunswick, the Liberals are leading or elected in five ridings while the Conservatives are leading or elected in five ridings with the biggest surprise of the night coming in Fredericton with a tight race emerging between Liberal Jenica Atwin and Conservative Andrea Johnson.
Atwin was elected as a member of the Green Party in 2019 but crossed the floor to the Liberals.
Meantime, Liberals swept the three seats in P.E.I. and took six seats in NFLD.
