I know I may have just opened up the topping fight, I mean discussion. You could always go with the survey results for the top 10 toppings in North America.

I am not surprised to see pepperoni on top of that list, but mushrooms as the second most popular was a bit surprising. I also did not expect to see pineapple in the top 10. I like it, but I know pineapple on pizza is a sore point for many. The other question is, do you order in, make your own, or do the in-between thing where you buy the frozen frisbee from the store but enhance it with more toppings and extra cheese?
When it comes to pizza takeout, one spot that comes to my mind is Jessy’s Pizza on King street. But there are actually 20 spots listed with Trip Advisor on the South Shore for take out pizza. That doesn’t even include the grocery stores that will cook pizza for you, so lots of options.

I have to say I always liked the made from scratch homemade pizza. The toppings were always cut a bit thicker and mom’s homemade crust was always very tasty. Here is a question I never considered though as I always put the cheese on top, but is that the ‘right way’ to build a pizza? The experts say that where you place the cheese determines the texture of the end result and most places have the cheese under the toppings…
I do remember going to friend’s houses where the traditional Kraft pizza kit was homemade pizza too. Definitely a classic memory from growing up. I have to say though, I never experienced the idea I found this morning in an old commercial from ’93.
As a last topping on this pizza post, I found the Canadian bucket list for must try pizzas. I will argue that this list must have been made in Ontario or out West since the Maritimes are not mentioned at all. From travelling I would say one of the best pizza spots for putting interesting twists on this classic meal was a spot in Las Angeles, California. But that is a whole other country, haha.
